The body of a 34-year-old Edgar man, who had been missing for more than two weeks, was found dead on Saturday at about noon.
The body of Michael Phillips was found by a dog team near the bank of Rock Creek, about a quarter of a mile from where he was last seen walking east out of Joliet on Main Street at about 4 a.m. on Jan. 9.
Sheriff’s deputies, Carbon County Search and Rescue personnel and six dog teams were searching for Phillips on Saturday.
Phillips left a party at a friend’s house about an hour before his disappearance, according to a release issued by the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office.
No foul play is suspected in Phillips’ death, McQuillan said. An autopsy will be conducted on Monday to determine an exact cause of death.
